CourtTV10 : Let's just say it did not get the defense spin it got last time when it was presented BABS1994 : how, in general is the jury reacting--can you tell? CourtTV10 : While Dr. Burgess was on the stand for defense Go Leslie : I thought Burgess was ineffective the first time with that tape. I can't see how it makes much.. Baja Beach : Do you think the defense will play the tape again to wear it down, so to speak? Go Leslie : difference. CourtTV10 : It's hard to read the jury/ they are taking notes, watching everything intently...but I can't Go Leslie : The bros can go through it line by line. CourtTV10 : tell yet who's for state and who's for defense Plinkplunk : Are they going to bring in the issue of ERik's homosexuality as they threatened last time CourtTV10 : What does that mean? line by line? CourtTV10 : Don't know about Erik's sexuality but Conn didn't mention in openings so I doubt it Baja Beach : I mean play it again so the gory effect wears off. CourtTV10 : Yes the brothers can testify about the tape line by line and there are indeed lines that seem CourtTV10 : exculpatory BABS1994 : how are conn and najera coming off in the courtroom? hard to tell from the transcripts CourtTV10 : Conn is keeping his cool. Najera and Leslie sometimes go at it but they are a good match Go Leslie : Mary Jane, is (Judge) Stan(Weisberg) completely po'd with the prosecutors yet? Chachee2 : I think Najera is a whiney little...... BABS1994 : carol seems a little dense in the transcripts--is the judge condescending toward her? CourtTV10 : Najera seems to be questioning most of the witnesses. can't figure out why Baja Beach : Sorry, MJ, but CTV never gave a indept jury profile. Can you tell us about each one??? ;-) Plinkplunk : What is the bros demeanor like -- does it mirror last time when they seemed kind of blank? Go Leslie : Her questions are often unintelligible to me. CourtTV10 : It seems Weisberg is exasperated with the prosecutors because they keep failing to turn over CourtTV10 : discovery Baja Beach : Like the jurors' demeanor. Chachee2 : I noticed that, MJ Go Leslie : Yes, MJ. Why doesn't he just preclude stuff? BABS1994 : it is not boring to a lot of people--tell them that is the only reason I am watching Plinkplunk : How are the LA papers covering the trial. Press seems to have lost interest.. CourtTV10 : Charlie seems to be dealing well with a lot of new bad evidence against Lyle he is a great Baja Beach : Well, they have to don't they. Otherwise, they don't meet their burden of proof. CourtTV10 : Jamie started crying actually when (defense attorney) Terry Towery asked about her mother who is very ill Chachee2 : why did she ask that? CourtTV10 : It was really a sad moment in the courtroom she tried to gain composure but couldn't Go Leslie : Wasn't it that her mother may testify against her..or something? CourtTV10 : This trial is much different in that the state's case in chief deals with Lyle and Erik's claims of Go Leslie : hmmm...obnoxious..... CourtTV10 : abuse etc, by saying up front the brothers lied about everything Chachee2 : that could backfire, MJ Serenity64 : arrogant is a better term , babs Baja Beach : MJ, what else do the People plan to offer in the final week of their case in cheif? BABS1994 : ok arrogant and obnoxious CourtTV10 : Conn is not obnoxious... he's pretty cool for a prosecutors Chachee2 : calling them liars so much....if someone does believe them.....Conn is sunk Go Leslie : I seem to recall that the first time around, the pros thought they were doing a smashing job... Go Leslie : too, at this point in their case.
